Weird.

Well, I have been having fun with my roommates. We play card games a lot, like Skip-Bo, Phase 10, and a lot of drinking games without the drinking. (I need practice for when I go to parties...lol, yeah...right...) Mainly I am learning them so that when I come home for Christmas, I can teach Denise how to play them, and her and I can drink and play them in the safety of home. Moose, Ride the Buss, Presidents and Assholes, Ring of Fire, and a whole lot more. I don't know any drinking games, and that's all that Tosha knows. So I teach her my games, she teaches me her games. It's fun. Mark, Ashley, and Tosha didn't know how to play Skip-Bo at first, because they have never played before. So, I taught them, which wasn't hard. But then the first game we played, I kicked their butts... So, I guess they are just "Skip-Bo virgins" while I'm a "Skip-Bo whore"...nice terminology, huh?

Weird.
Also, something weird happened to me today that reminded me of something weird that happened last Friday when I was working at the Front Desk.
***NOTE: I am not used to flirting or people flirting with me.***

I was just sitting there, playing Breath of Fire 3, when this guy, whom I might have seen before, but haven’t talked to or anything walks by, and he starts talking to me. Not so weird, because a lot of people do it. But when he walks by, coming back from where he was, he stopped and talked to me again. People don’t usually do that. I’m thinking: Ok, so maybe he’s just a little friendly. About 15 minutes passes, and there goes the same guy again, and he smiles and waves at me. Again, not so weird...he must have forgotten something. (The weird little thing is that he smiled and waved. Usually it’s one or the other.) He did the same thing when he came back. That happens about 2 more times...meaning: --> twice, and <-- twice. Always waving and smiling, or talking. Weird.
When I told my roommates about it, of course they tell me he was flirting. I love being book smart, but I hate not being guy smart. I never asked his name, or him mine, so yeah, I dunno. (Reading to this point, I’m sure everyone reading this with some knowledge of guys and their behavior are laughing their butts off, or in mom’s case, just shaking her head in disbelief.)

So, I had forgotten all about it for a while until after Tosha, Ashley and I came back from McDonald’s during break and I saw the guy. Not being quite as shy as before, I grinned (so that maybe he wouldn’t think it bothered me) I told Tosha and Ashley while we were walking by the guy: “This is the guy who walks by the Front Desk a million times while I’m working!” and I laugh. His reaction, which I did NOT expect: he kissed the air and winked...We all laughed, and said cya, and when we were back in the apartment, of course, Tosha was teasing me. “He practically kissed you!!”...I said: jeez Tosha, there was like, 3 feet between us...practically would have been closer!

The people in our apartment, including me, are juvenile when it comes to guys when we are joking around.

Classes
Oh yeah, I haven't told about my classes for this term. I started out with these classes:

Business Law
Principles of Accounting 1
***Lunch Break***
Advanced Grammar (AAARGH I HATE GRAMMAR)
Math of Personal Finance

So, I am on Academic Probation, because my GPA is below 2.0 right now, and I can only take 3 classes a term. Once I get off Academic Probation, I will be able to take 4 classes again. So, while I was deciding which class to drop, I remembered that I wanted to change my major. Well, the lady who deals with class dropping/transferring is the same one who deals with major changes. So, I asked her which classes of those 4 I didn't need for an IT major, and she told me that not only did I not need Accounting, but I don't need Business Law either. So I asked her if it would be possible to drop both those classes and transfer into a class that pertains to my major, and she said that would be fine. So, here is my revised schedule:

Excel Spreadsheet Development
***None***
***Lunch Break***
Advanced Grammar (I have this class with Ashley)
Math of Personal Finance (I have this class with Tosha and Angela)

I think I'm going to enjoy it.

boring

Everything is just so boring. Some of my classes are boring, and I don't do anything most of the time. So, yeah. Hell, even this post is boring. I will be getting a larger amount this time for my paycheck(s) tomorrow, so I will be going shopping probably tomorrow. I am going to go to Gordmans to buy some stuff, like luggage(3-piece set for 29.99), maybe socks, maybe a sweatshirt (don't have any CASUAL sweatshirts). Most of what I'm going to spend my money on is food. And I'm going to enjoy that most of all, knowing the families I come from.

Thanksgiving

Well, you guys won't have to worry about me not having Thanksgiving Dinner. Waneta (Housing Director) has invited me to come to her Thanksgiving Dinner, which is being held in the Fenton Hall Lounge. It's very nice of her to do, and I appreciate it a lot. She knows that I can't come home for Thanksgiving, and she is the one who helped me when I was feeling out of place and when I wanted to go home. So, this is what I am thankful for this year:

  • Family who supports me when I'm gone
  • Denise and her generosity
  • Mom, who wants me to be closer, but accepted my choice to go far away
  • Cindy, who is always seeing the positive in things
  • Danielle, who makes me realize how old I am physically and mentally
  • My friends here who help make it worth being here
  • Victoria, who makes me value silence now that I'm out of the house
  • Elishia, who calls me for a half hour just to tell me that he got stuck in the bed
  • Jesse, for finally being able to beat up the two people who were the meanest to him: Victoria and Elishia
  • People who don't know me very well, but are very nice to me
  • The government, who usually screws people, that made it so that I can actually come to college(grants, loans, scholarships)
  • Axtell, for making me so naive about cities, because ignorance IS bliss.
  • Holly, because we had so much fun together in the recent and long past, that just remembering those times cheers me up.
  • Sarah, who keeps in touch a lot, and helps me remember the times in high school I never want to forget.
  • Being able to have two jobs

The bitchy sales lady at Victoria's Secret told me that I'm bigger than a DD...Oh the joy...they don't sell higher than that at Victoria's Secret...and I don't think they sell them at Walmart either...But I bought a bra at Wal-Mart on Friday night...and I bought a shirt also. Both those combined, I only spent about 14$ at Wal-Mart. The bra wasn't even a granny bra...It is black with little pink polka dots and it's a pushup bra. I think I got a good deal.

Feedback

Please, give me some feedback on Denise's site...Especially YOU Denise...I'd feel much better making it the way you want it, rather than putting in some random colors that I think look cool together.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Oh yeah...It's snowing here...and sticking a little too. They are big, fat, wet flakes that completely cover you within 1 minute, and when you are out there for 3-5 minutes, you are soaking wet when you come inside.

Payday!

I got my first paycheck today. A whopping 98$, but it's from the first full pay period I worked, which wasn't many hours. From this pay period, I should be getting around 160$ from the library, and around 90$ from the Front Desk...Very rough estimate on the front desk one...But after the big fall and winter breaks are over, i will be getting normal paychecks from both.

On a similar note, I will probably be working on Thanksgiving...time and a half lol. That excites me.

I have a challenge for you...

As Denise knows well, until my next paycheck I have no money and almost no food. Here is the challenge:

What is something I can make with:
Ramen Noodles
Potatoes
Instant Mashed Potatoes
Uncooked Spaghetti Noodles

All ingredients do not have to be used, and I have butter, sugar, salt, a few eggs, but no milk.

This isn't a dire thing since I get paid on the 15th, but I was just curious if someone can actually make something out of those things. I mean something that is edible, and someone might want to make again. I have been trying all week to figure something out, just for something different than ramen every lunchtime. So, that's why I decided to enlist your culinary brilliance.

I know what Annette's thinking right now: "Is there a prize?" Well, I have no clue about a prize at the moment, but I figured I had time to think about it. This is mainly just something to see how many things you can do with a package of ramen and some potatoes....

Little Miss Muffet: The Uncut Version

This is for all you spider haters out there like me.

Little Miss Muffet
sat on a tuffet
eaten her curds and whey.
Along came a spider
who sat down beside her
and frightened Miss Muffet away.

Then Muffet went back
and checked her gun rack,
grabbing a .357.
Finding the spider
she sat down beside her
and blew that poor sucker to heaven.

That was on a "Pearls Before Swine" comic I just read. It is a very funny comic.

I need help

Annette, could you help me with my background? It's doing the same thing that yours is...it's showing up blank, and I am wondering how you fixed that problem.

Nothing new has come up since the last time I blogged. But as I know well, it is always nice to check someone's blog and see a new post, even if that person didn't have an eventful day. I am selling Red Wheel stuff for IMA. It's stuff like Frozen Pizzas, Lasagna, Pizza Bread(which is one thing I'm going to buy) Chocolate pies(which is another thing I'm going to buy) and all sorts of other pies and cookie dough too. There is also a bunch of taco things too. It sucks that Frozen items don't ship well, or I would be begging Denise to buy some stuff. I got 9 dollars from Mom yesterday, and it's almost all gone. She is sending me another 20, to be paid back when I get paid. I would change the background on here, but there wouldn't be much space for a background as it is. So yeah, that's about all for right now... If you want to call me and actually get ahold of me, don't call during these times:

Monday: 6:00AM - 1:40PM
Tuesday: 8:00AM - 1:40PM and 2:00PM - 5:00PM
Wednesday: 8:00AM - 1:40PM and 2:00PM - 5:00PM
Thursday: 8:00AM - 1:40PM and 2:00PM - 5:00PM
Friday: Anytime before 1:ooPM
Saturday: Anytime before 1:ooPM
Sunday: Sometimes working at 5:ooPM - 8:00PM
It's generally not a good idea to call between 8:00AM and 8:30AM, or before 8:00am in general, but if you really really need to get ahold of me in the mornings, that's the best time to do it...before 8:30AM. I have the same class schedule and work schedule next month, so the times wont change like I thought they would. All I know is that I hate to come back to the apartment, check the caller ID and see that I have missed several calls from the people I love back home.

Oh yeah..one more thing....

K-State is gonna kick Nebraska's butt!

ATTENTION: Annette

I can't read your blog. I was expecting to see something funny...but oh no...I couldn't have that privilege. When I clicked on your link, my browser went to your site for a split second, and then it went to this site here:

Here Again

I am here at the front desk again, just filling in for someone. There's not much to do other than read and stuff, but hey, I don't mind at all.

Eric called last night. I am not going to go into all the details, but it just seemed like in general that he was kissing ass. That is not really a sore subject, I just don't need to dwell on it. I am anxiously awaiting the package that I hope mom and Denise sent out today..it should get here in a few days. I got my class schedule today, and I only have to walk up to the administration building once. I have Principles of Accounting I again, Business Law I think..., Advanced Grammar which is gonna kick my ass royally, and Math of Personal Finance. Sounds like some hard work on my part.

Oh well, I suppose I'd better get back to doing whatever it was I was doing...Later..

The best commercial slogan:

"Make every stroke count"

Who can guess what brand that is for?
glitter graphics

Right now I'm at the Fenton Hall Front Desk, filling in a couple hours so that another front desk worker can do some schoolwork, so I'm going to be sitting here for a couple of hours until he comes back. It doesn't seem like a difficult job, it just has a lot of smaller jobs to do, if the need arises. People aren't here much on weekends, and they especially don't come in during the morning hours often, so for the most part I think I'm going to be sitting here reading my book. Which, by the way is a V.C. Andrews book that I have NOT read before. It's called Runaways, and it seems to be a very interesting book. It's about kids who are in foster care. I can get on the computer, watch tv, and some people that work here even bring in their Playstations and play games. Well, I've been here since 8, and I think I am going to play some games online or something.

They came for me on Tuesday night...

Yeah. The cops came to talk to me because Eric told them that I stole the tower for his computer.

Well, first of all, I went down to Waneta's office right after I got off of work at 5 to talk to her about a few problems I was having; a little homesickness, a little bit overwhelmed, and I felt like Eric was becoming an enemy instead of the friend he said he could be. She was very supportive, and after I had been in there a while, I felt so much better. In fact, I still feel better. As I was about to leave, she told me that she needed someone to work at the front desk on every other weekend, and every Friday. I asked her if she was kidding, and she said no. So, now I have two jobs. Right now I'm at the Library, with all of my work finished until someone else comes in.

Anyways, about the whole Eric thing. To sum it up, here is what happened:

~ He brought back my Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction Disc back with a medium to large sized crack in it between the time I left for work and the time I got home.

~ When I got home from work around 5:00, I dropped my stuff off, and looked at the disc. Seeing that it had a crack in it, and I was going to Waneta's office, I brought it with me to see if I could do anything about it.

~ When I got to Waneta's office, we talked quite a bit, and I told her about most if not all of the problems I have been having. I decided then to leave my computer as it is, and not have him fix it anymore...I thought it would be a welcome gesture for him, since he bitched about fixing my computer all the time.

~ After I got my PowerPoint homework finished, I sent an email to him saying:

"I will not be needing your services for my computer anymore. I am going to leave it as it is at the moment. I will buy a new Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction disc."

~ I got a reply that generally stated that he knew the disc wasn't cracked when he brought it back, Adam (I have no idea who Adam is) had three Diablo discs, and he must have gotten it mixed up.

~ He came up to my apartment not too long after that, maybe an hour, I'm not sure. He asked for the disc so he could replace it. I figured if he wanted the disc to replace it or do whatever to it, what was I losing if he didn't return it? a broken disc.

~ I told him that I was not going to send my motherboard back in to the company to replace it, or buy a new power supply and that I was going to leave the computer as it is. He told me that I would have to sign a Liability waiver stating that if I left the computer as is, he is not responsible for the repairs afterwards. Well, according to him and a contract I have never seen, that would mean that if I wanted it repaired, I would have to pay him, or not have it repaired till a year was up, because I couldn't get anyone else to open the case, or the computer would be forfeit and I would have to return the computer and I would have to pay HIM money. I told him that if he brought up the liability waiver, I would look at it, but I wasn't guaranteeing that I would sign it.

~ He continued to tell me that I needed to send back the motherboard and buy a power supply. He also starts it off as "What you want to do is..." so I said, "What I want is for you to leave my apartment and leave me alone" I didn't scream or get upset or anything, much to the dismay of my roommates and Denise... I had to repeat that I wanted him to get out of the apartment and leave me alone.

~ He stormed off telling me that I was going to be seeing his lawyer.

~ Later, he came back, saying that he was going to take the computer to fix it. I walked over in front of the computer and I told him that he wasn't taking it. He protested just a little and told me that he just wanted to fix it, and why was I doing this. I picked up the phone, called Waneta, and told her of the situation. She wanted to talk to Eric. After she talked to him, he left.

~ It was pretty quiet the rest of the night, until around midnight.

~ Someone was knocking at the door, and my roommate was freaking out because she didn't know the person. So I answered the door to find that there were 3 cops...and they were looking for me.

~ They told me that Eric was upstairs on the 4th floor, he came back down to his room, and his tower was gone, and that he suspected me. If I hadn't talked away my inner problems that day, I probably would have cried. The officer told me that he just wanted to take down my information in case Eric wanted them to write up a report about all this. I gave him my info, and he told me that I would be listed as a suspect, which really isn't a big deal considering the tower that Eric said I stole from him is the one that my mom paid him to make. I told the officers this also, and pointed towards the computer, which is now locked up somewhere. They couldn't understand why he would say I stole it if I didn't steal it. My theory is that he is mad at me, and he thinks that they will be on his side, see the computer there, and make problems for me.

Well guess what? It didn't create problems for me, it made my night a little more exciting. I would not want it to happen again, but it wasn't bad because I knew, and I think they knew that I didn't steal the computer. Also, I have a choice to go to either Arenacross, which I can get credits in a class of mine to go to, or to the Fall Formal. They are both on the same night, so I have to decide which to go by tomorrow. Thats all for now, Cya..
