Update on the diet. Lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks. Haven't had a pop for a week until tonight, and it was Sierra Mist Free (diet). That pop is soo good.

One of the things I remember about being a kid is always having enough Barbies and Barbie clothes. Mainly because my mom makes the clothes. Had about 40 barbies and pretty much unlimited clothes. Heaven.

Also, 10 reasons why I love books.

-I can put it down anytime I want, during any part, and (unless I lose my bookmark) I don't have to search for where I left off.
-I don't have to rewind or fast forward.
-They don't need a remote or batteries or cords or electricity
-Can read them in a power outage with a flashlight
-Gives more detail than the movie.
-I can picture the characters any way I want, and I'm not disappointed by my imagination.
-I can decorate my bookmark any way I like it, and have as many as I want.
-They last a long time, and never come out in a new format (exception: pdf, or web books...they just arent the same as paper books)
-If I fall asleep while reading, the book doesn't continue on without me (unlike a movie)
-I can read them almost anywhere I go.

Hmm...

Knowing how to unhook a bra has always come naturally to me, being a girl. It never occurred to me that other people didn't know how to. Thus comes the "How to Unhook a Bra" instruction page on WikiHow. For all of you who read my blog but don't know how to unhook a bra, click here. It just took me by surprise.

Clown pants

I have this picture of me on the first day of preschool that looks a lot like Victoria did when she was that age. I showed it to Victoria and said:

"This looks a lot like you did when you were in preschool, doesn't it?"

and she just looks at me and says:

"No, because I'd never wear those clown pants."

Thanks Victoria, I thought I looked cute.

I wasn't tagged, but I'm doing it anyways

Needlework by Fred Rosen

He didn't want to talk to her. She hated when there was so much silence and distance between them. "What's the matter Tim?" Carol finally asked.

I'm going to tag Cindy, Annette, and Denise

Book tag goes like this:

1. Grab the nearest book. Don't think, just the nearest book...
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 3 sentences on your blog (Please include the book and author) along with these instructions.
5. Don’t you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest.
6. Tag five people.

Danielle is staying the night at my house. She looks at me and says:

"I heard that if you don't sleep for 3 days, you are legally insane. I wish I was legally insane for one day. "
That's all I'm going to say about that one for right now, had to put it in blog before I forgot it...

Today is not my day. I was moving a shelf of Mike's that's back on the coffee table that way we could rearrange things. We had just moved the fishtank to a much better spot and got the filter to working again, when mom told me she needed help moving this shelf used to be or still is or whatever. All I know is that it was once Mikes, and we had no input on how it was built. Well, I tipped it forward, and both those shelves inside came out and landed on my foot. Cried for a half hour, and my big toe still hurts. Found out that our dragonfish died last night, probably because the filter wasn't working, but oh well, I'm used to fish dying at this point. All I can do is try to keep them alive and fed. They don't seem to mind their current placing. Mom, Victoria, Elishia and I, and maybe Cindy and Danielle, are going to a thing in Vermillion in September. There is going to be hot air balloon rides. If they are cheap enough, I want to go on one. I am scared to death of heights, but you don't get a chance like that often.

Axtell Days

The Axtell Harvest Festival was on Saturday. The parade always comes right by our house, so we just sit out in our front yard. This time Teala and I brought the bench around so a few of the adults could sit on it. The kids really had a blast and everytime they threw something other than candy out, Elishia would come running up with his face all scrunched up in a laugh, saying "mommy, look look, this isn't candy!" Teala and Elishia accidentally held up the parade for a few minutes, not knowing they were in front of one of the floats, because Teala was trying to help Elishia get candy. Jesse had a blast too, sitting in his stroller unbuckled. He really liked the horses and the bull. Elishia kept trying to get all of the big trucks to honk their horns, even the ones that weren't semis. One guy saw Elishia makin the signal to blow his horn, and the guy was makin faces and tryin to honk his horn, and Elishia thought it was funny. Victoria did very good at bingo, although she didn't win anything. Mom won a 5$ gift certificate to both Big B in Seneca, and Carolyns Kitchen in Marysville. I won "undergarment cleaner" or what I like to call Panty Soap, and a 5$ gift certificate to the Quilt Basket in Seneca. Our neighbor owns the Quilt Basket, and we went in there today and I picked out a pair of good scissors for my scrapbooking, that way I won't have to replace the scissors I've been using since I was in the 4th grade. It's not that we couldn't buy another pair, it's just that I like those scissors.

Yet another new blog

I made a blog to chart the progress of a diet my mom and I are on. The link is in my sidebar, but I will post it here too.
Family Food Journal

I am going to be honest about my weight and everything on there, so if you don't like people who aren't 130 pounds, you might not want to go to that particular blog. In fact, if you don't like people who aren't 130 pounds, you might not want to read "I Like To Bite The Ears Off" either. Anyone is welcome to join too, it would be great to have people to share tips and stories and support with. I may have a few people I know recruited. There's no requirement to joining the blog. Even if you aren't dieting, and just want to share stories and support, that's fine too.

Stephen King and J.K. Rowling...

Ok, so I'm a Potterfreak. I love Harry Potter. I have all the books and the movies. Also, I love Stephen King. He has been my favorite author for a long, long time. I am also collecting his books and movies. So, browsing the internet hoping to find some tidbits about the new Harry Potter book, number 7, the final book, I came across this article. I read through it, and it was enjoyable. The part I liked the most was this:

'Stephen King, reponding to a question about what he is afraid of, said: "When I picked up the Harry Potter books, I was surprised at the depth of the deatheaters." To which Rowling replied tauntingly: "I scared Stephen King." '

That made me chuckle. After reading so many of his books, it is surprising if anything could scare him. Although the guy did get hit by a vehicle...maybe the reflexes are going...oh well, still a great author.

Saturday . . .

Got a little sunburnt from swimming, but had a blast! The reunion was fun, Aunt Darlene raffled off an afghan, my cousin Fred won it, I think. Jesse was busy scaring the crap outta his mom, while I took pictures of it. He loves to climb on things, and especially at the park. Got a picture of a few of the kids at the reunion on top of the play log cabin. The kids that climbed up there were Renee, Carlie Miller, Victoria, Danielle, and Elishia. Renee made it clear that she wanted help down. Elishia is usually scared of everything, so I went to help him down while Danielle was standing there, trying to help him down too. "Are you sure you don't want help?" "No. I am brave. I do not need help" Me and Elishia went through that about 4 times, as he was sliding towards the edge. Well, he slipped and fell, and he was still saying "I do not need help. I am brave." on his way to the ground. It was hilarious, and he didn't hurt himself at all. The kids were hard to round up, but I tried to get a picture of all of my moms grandkids, much to Danielle's joy, she wasn't in the picture. Also, it has been so long since all my mom's family got a picture taken together at the park. (We have had one taken a few years ago at the community building, but it's just nice to have the picture outside.) So, to my surprise, it was almost harder getting the adults to get in the picture than the kids. Those kids for some reason, especially Pearl, love the camera. Every time I whipped out my camera at the reunion, if she saw it, she stopped what she was doing to say "cheese". Anyways, I figured it would be best to just stand by the tree and take the picture, but Cindy had the idea to take it on the jungle gym, which turned out to be a great idea, and Cindy was the first to get up on top. The first thing she said when everyone got over there was "Hey, this is all the farther I go." That cracked me up. The picture turned out great. It seemed like the kids had a lot of fun at the pool, I know the adults in the big pool did, and when I looked at the little pool once, I saw Cindy and Heidi lounging, so I assume they had a good time too. Teala, Denise, Danielle and I played catch, then 'Monkey in the Middle'. We also dove off the board a few times. Carlie was a little scared to go off the board at first, but then she wouldn't stop. During pool check, anyone over 18 can swim while the check is going on. Usually I'm there with Danielle, and I don't want to swim and leave her at the side by herself, but Teala was there, so Denise and I swam, and I will admit, it was fun to see the faces of those brats (not related to us) who kept doing cannonballs right by Danielle and I while we were playing catch. Well, that's about all I have to say about the reunion, I can't put my finger on anything else significant that happened.

Can't wait for the reunion on Saturday. It's been so hot for the past few days, the fans almost don't cut it. At least I'll be able to swim after the reunion. Again, I'm not really doing much these days. Mom and I are still working on the purses a little, and I'm cutting plastic canvas for her when I'm watching tv. Sometimes I'll forget I sat down to watch tv, and get more done than I expected. Other than that, there's really nothing to tell. Current tv addictions: America's Got Talent, Big Brother All-Stars, Jeopardy, and Degrassi: The Next Generation.
