Decoupage

Yeah, I've started a trend. Ever since I made a mobile in Art class using decoupage, I've just loved doing decoupage. So I decided that Vic's plant needed a new home.

So I decided to paint one for her, but then I decided against that because I didn't want to get out all the paint and decide what colors to use....So I found some tissue paper, some glue, water, and a paint brush and started to decoupage the flower pot. Mom decided that it would be something other people might want to buy, so after I got done with my and Vic's pots, I finished one more pot. Now Vic and mom are both out there decoupaging flower pots, and mom is using so much glue that her pot looks white, but oh well. I did Vic's pot for her birthday, since I'm not going to be here for that. So here are the pics of the finished and some of the unfinished pots. I'm going to paint the rest of the pots white so that the tissue paper color will show up better.

Roommates

One of my new roommates called me today. She seems awesome. We have a lot in common in what we like to do and how we act. Her name is Tosha, and we already decided to bunk together, since it's a two-bedroom apartment, two girls to a bedroom. I am not so nervous now that I know there will be someone nice there.

Guinea Cats

And what, may you ask, is a guinea cat? Why, it's a cat that looks like a guinea pig. Astro had babies sometime during the past week, and mom decided to let them in for a while, mainly because it's raining. So, it's just water on Astro and the box. It's nothing from the birth. I know that some people are squeamish about that kind of stuff. But the reason I call them Guinea Cats is because of that white and orange one in there. There are two of them, and if you didn't see his cute stripey head, he would look like a guinea pig, or a hamster, because they are smaller. They were in a bush thats right beside the house, but Astro was wailing, trying to get in. The babies were completely dry, but Astro, as you can see was soaked.

There are two blackish ones that will blossom into callico cats, most likely, and two white and orange cats.

This is Nose's domain, or so she thinks, so she watches the box the babies are in often, with what seems like comtempt. She's so curious about them, but if she gets too close she hisses.

Ok, New Music Time...

I want to see what songs everyone is listening to at the moment. Not like, right this very minute, but what you listen to in general. I want to listen to some new music, and I figured this would be a way to find music that I wouldn't have ever thought of.

Housing Assignment

I finally got my housing assignment for AIB. Getting this in the mail just kinda makes the fact that I won't be here for a couple years seem real now. I'm going to be living in a two bedroom apartment, with 3 roommates. The way I read this paper...they are all new students too. They also sent a list of what I have responsibilty to bring, and thankfully, I have most of the items on the list that I need. I am getting so excited now. I'm going to put up some kind of countdown till I leave on September 4th. This blog will be a great way to communicate with Cindy, Denise, Danielle, and even Annette while I'm away.

I even have the phone number and address for the room. Just ask me and I will give you the phone number, address, or my email address. I'll write to anyone who writes to me. Ok, I'm gonna start crying soon, so I'm out...

Subliminal messages and Where's Waldo

OK, I am a big fan of Where's Waldo. I always had trouble find him in the books. If you like Where's Waldo, and a challenge, click on the link for Where's Waldo below. It is so much fun, and it takes a little while to find Waldo. Also, I love subliminal messages. It's so fun to hear something and realize afterwards that you had no idea there was a hidden message, and the same goes for pictures, you just never saw the hidden picture. So, here are the links for Where's Waldo and the Subliminal messages. Warning on the subliminal messages, it's a little naughty.

By the way, if you have seen these before, please don't ruin it for the other people who haven't had the chance to figure them out.

Harry Potter 6

Well, we have the book, and I am currently at Cindy's house. Danielle and I stayed up until 5:00 AM reading the book, and Cindy read it while we were sleeping today. Cindy is just two pages ahead of me, and we are about 70 pages ahead of Danielle. The book is awesome, although the first chapter is very very boring, but the book redeemed itself by having an awesome second chapter. I have already found out who dies in the book, but don't worry, I won't spoil it for everyone. I was just looking through the book, looking at the pictures at the beginning of each chapter. In one chapter I accidentally read TWO WORDS and nearly started crying. I was like "OMG she/he DIES??"

So...yeah... last night was fun...Danielle and I stayed up until 11 playing trivia on the computer. Cindy got home, and we went over to Marysville then. When we got over there, it was about 11:30, and so we just walked around. Right off the bat we saw two women dressed in witch outfits. We just walked around the store and got back to where we started at about 11:50, and there was already a line where they were handing out the books. I thought we were nuts for going to Wal-Mart at midnight for a single book, but we weren't the only ones. There were about 20 people there in all. One boy was wearing Harry Potter glasses. Three girls were wearing Gryffindor scarves (red and gold striped if you didn't know already). While we were going through the parking lot, some girl screamed: "I love Harry!" so, on a whim, I yelled "Me too!". lol...Cindy said: Don't do that it's embarrassing...lol. Well, thats about all I have to say today other than: we are going to see Willy Wonka tomorrow :D. I'm Out.

Totally Psyched!!

Alright. It's setting in now. I'm going to get the 6th Harry Potter book day after tomorrow!! :D *dances* And what's even better than getting my newest favorite book? Having Danielle with me...buying it also! :D *dances again* Danielle and I are going to go to Super Wal-Mart at 6:00AM with my mom to buy the latest installment of one of the best book series ever. When Danielle asked Cindy if she could go, Cindy thought that Danielle wanted HER to drive lol. We aren't that mean Cindy. So the plan is that Danielle is going to stay the night on friday, and we will go Saturday...I'm going to stay up all night like usual, but I'll bet Danielle will crash a few hours before six.

I'm not as big of the movies as I am of the books. With movies, everything is given to you. What the characters look like, sound like, and miscellaneous details about the story itself. Books just let you cook up this magnificent image in your head and do what you want with it.

When you see the movie after reading your most favoritest book...and you think..."well, that's not how I pictured *insert name of character* when I read the book" It's a tiny bit dissappointing. Like on Harry Potter. (What else would I make an example of? LOL I'm in PotterMania mode.) In the first movie, the man who played Dumbledore was exactly as I had pictured him, as were most of the characters, IE: Snape, Malfoy, Harry, Ron, Hermione, etc. etc. etc. But in the second movie, Gilderoy Lockhart wasn't what I had pictured at all.

(I'm guessing I'll get Danielle's attention with this Blog more than Annette or Cindy, considering me and danielle quiz each other on Harry Potter every so often. I will admit, Danielle does win almost every time.)

By the way, I'm reading the whole series again, and you'd better watch out Danielle! I'm trying to figure out a question that you will never be able to answer. MWAHAHAHAHA!!)

OK getting anxious to get my hands on that book...I'm Out

Tuesday, July 12, 2005

Ok, Ok,

...So I haven't blogged in a while. It's just kinda boring around here. There are two days to look forward to tho...July 15th, when Willy Wonka is SUPPOSED to come into theaters. Seneca and Marysville are always a little late when it comes to movies, so that date is only a maybe.

Second date is July 16th which is the release date for: *drumroll* Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince! That is my all-time favorite book series/movie series, so I am going to stay up all night on Friday, (which is no surprise since I usually go to bed at 5:00 AM...I've gotta watch Case Closed at 4:30 AM.) and I'm going to wake mom up at 6 so we can head off to Super Wal-Mart in Marysville and hope to pick up a copy of the book. We are going so early in case it is sold out early. I know I'm paranoid, but it's easier for me to just stay up all night and just keep going in the morning than it is for me to go to sleep for a couple hours after stayin up all night.

Mike had to reformat the computer because Norton wouldn't install...and because of our little virus problem, we NEED a good, decent virus protector...even if it is a memory hog. So now I have to install a few of my games, and some of the programs I use frequently. But as of right now, all 7 of the backup discs are out of use becase Mike zipped and burnt them using Nero, and now cannot figure out how to get the files onto the computer. Oh well, one of us will figure it out eventually.

Also, Mike is giving me his tv for college. Thank you again Mike. Even tho you said you needed a reason to buy a bigger one ;) lmao. I appreciate the tv very very much.

And as for college...I want to go, and then again I don't want to go. I want to go back to high school so I can go to school with Danielle for a couple more years! My senior year was a little funner with her around before, during, and after school. It's so great I can get along with my neice like this...maybe it's because she's not a little kid, and we are so close in age...5 years. But the part of me that can't wait to go to Iowa, that feeling can be expressed in the words of my nephew Elishia...: I am neber, eber eber eber eber eber eber EBER gonna get there. So, with that longish blog, I am out.
